Creamy Steak Pasta Recipe

  • Author: Marina
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This creamy steak pasta combines tender seared steak with a rich, cheesy cream sauce and perfectly cooked pasta for a hearty and satisfying meal. Ideal for a comforting dinner, the dish features simple ingredients like garlic, parmesan, and Italian seasoning to enhance its flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 lb steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or penne)

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the steak: Thoroughly season the steak on both sides with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning to infuse flavor.
  2. Sear the steak: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear it on both sides until it develops a brown crust and is cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest to retain juices.
  3. Cook the pasta: While the steak rests, boil salted water and cook the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Create the cream sauce: Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer gently until it thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add parmesan cheese: Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until it melts completely, creating a smooth, creamy sauce.
  7. Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss well to fully coat the pasta with the cream sauce.
  8. Slice the steak: Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  9. Assemble and serve: Place the sliced steak over the creamy pasta. Serve hot, optionally garnished with extra parmesan cheese or fresh herbs such as parsley.

Notes

  • Resting the steak after cooking ensures it stays juicy.
  • Use ribeye for a more tender, marbled steak or sirloin for a leaner option.
  • For added freshness, garnish with chopped parsley or basil.
  • Cook pasta just until al dente to avoid overcooking in the sauce.
  • Leftover steak can be substituted if desired.
