Ingredients
Scale
Crust & Topping
- 1 package (14 oz) Oreo cookies, crushed
- 4–6 whole Oreo cookies for garnish
- 1 cup pastel candy-coated chocolates
- 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
Filling
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- Crush the Cookies: Place Oreo cookies in a food processor or a sealed plastic bag and crush them into coarse crumbs. Set aside the crushed cookies for layering.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Base: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter together until smooth and creamy, creating a rich and velvety base.
- Add the Powdered Sugar: Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy, ensuring a sweet and balanced flavor.
- Make the Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and instant vanilla pudding mix until the mixture thickens, forming the creamy pudding layer.
- Combine the Filling: Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Then, carefully stir in the thawed whipped topping until the filling is smooth and well combined.
- Layer the Dessert: Begin by spreading a layer of crushed Oreos in the bottom of a casserole dish. Add a thick layer of the creamy filling over the cookies. Sprinkle some pastel candy-coated chocolates on top. Repeat these layers until the dish is full, building a visually appealing and flavorful dessert.
- Decorate the Top: Finish with a final layer of creamy filling. Garnish with whole Oreo cookies, additional pastel candy-coated chocolates, and a sprinkle of rainbow sprinkles to create a festive Easter presentation.
- Chill: Refrigerate the assembled casserole for at least 2 hours before serving. This chilling time allows the layers to set properly and the flavors to meld together beautifully.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese and butter for the creamiest texture.
- Crushing Oreos by food processor provides even crumbs but using a sealed bag and rolling pin works well too.
- For best results, chill the dessert overnight to let flavors meld and layers firm up.
- Pastel candy-coated chocolates can be replaced with any small colorful candies for decoration.
- This dessert is best served cold straight from the refrigerator.
- Leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
