Ready in just 35 minutes, they are easy to prepare and bring a beautiful swirl effect enhanced by optional red food coloring for a romantic touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cheesecake Swirl

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring (optional for Valentine’s theme)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the pan. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Make the brownie batter. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract together until fully combined.
  3. Add dry ingredients. Stir in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt until the batter is smooth and uniform.
  4. Pour brownie batter into the pan. Transfer the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Prepare the cheesecake swirl. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth. Add red food coloring if desired to create a festive Valentine’s look.
  6. Swirl the cheesecake mixture. Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the brownie batter. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the cheesecake into the brownie batter creating a marbled effect.
  7. Bake the brownies. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool and serve. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares to ensure clean slices and the perfect texture.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
  • For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder instead of regular cocoa powder.
  • Add heart-shaped sprinkles on top before baking for an extra festive Valentine’s Day touch.
